My Story
Me and Wayu basking in the sun at the beach in Malibu, CA.
Welcome to The Open Road Life!
I’m Adrienne, the imagination, heart, soul & body behind this creation.
Here’s a little bit about me:
I graduated from Scripps College in 2012 with a BA in Latin American Studies and then took off to
South America with a one-way plane ticket for the next 9 months. I came home with a puppy I
found on the Northern coast of Colombia and named her Wayu! The name comes from one of
Indigenous groups in the state of La Guajira, Colombia where I found her. Over the next couple
of years I lived inHawaii, Bolinas, Brooklyn, Boulder and finally came back to Los Angeles where
I grew up. I was on a meandering path full of adventure;
letting go of finding an end point and enjoying The Open Road Life.
Yoga came into my life way back when I was 12 years old and began practicing Iyengar yoga with my dad.
The practice stuck with me and has been an integral part of maintaining stability throughout my life.
I have completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training and 40 hour trauma-informed training.
I come from a family of foodies so it felt natural to expand my own culinary skills
through holistic cooking school at The Natural Gourmet Institute in New York City.
For a couple of years The Open Road Life was Open Road Foods.
As I dipped further into the world of full-body healing and health, the voice in my head
that had been telling me to become an acupuncturist since age 18 grew too loud to ignore.
So here I am: an acupuncturist, herbalist, yogi and chef!
It brings me great joy to be a part of your path on this adventure called life!
I love what I do.
