My  Story

Hello, and welcome to The Open Road Life! I am Adrienne, the imagination and heart, soul, body behind this creation. Here is a little bit about me:

After graduating from Scripps College in 2012 with a BA in Latin American Studies, I traveled to South America with a one-way plane ticket.  Nine months later, I returned with a puppy I found on the Northern coast of Colombia. Wayu and I continue to learn from each other every day about love, compassion and self-care. Over the next couple of years I bounced around doing various jobs in various places ( Los Angeles, Bolinas, New York City, Boulder). I managed a family, managed a household, went to cooking school and taught preschool. I was on a meandering path full of adventure!

Yoga came into the picture way back when I was twelve years old and began practicing with my dad. I would go to class and laugh or giggle to myself but the practice stuck with me and became an integral part of stability throughout my life. I have completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training, 40 hour trauma informed training and cannot imagine where I would be without yoga. Cooking came into picture from the day my existence on earth began. I come from a family of foodies and decided to expand my knowledge and skills through cooking school in New York City.

Cooking healthy food and practicing/teaching yoga brought two of my greatest loves and adventures into my life permanently, but there was still a part of the puzzle missing. I wanted to be working with traditional herbal medicine and acupuncture. It has always called to me but I had been too scared to take the plunge; deep down I knew this was part of my calling so I went for it! I am currently a student at Emperors College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and cannot wait to treat both humans and animals soon!

I love what I do.

The Open Road Life is waiting for you!
